20^th Alemi Meeting: Saturday July 8^th at University of Leoben in Leoben, Austria

Dear colleagues

We are excited to share with you the details for the 20^th Alemi meeting which will be hosted by our colleagues at the University of Leoben. 

Date:  Saturday, July 8^th (all day). 

Location:  University of Leoben, Leoben, Austria

Travel:  For those of you attending the Thermec meeting, you can catch a train from Vienna to Leoben (2 hrs).  Other options for travel is to fly to Graz and make the trip from Graz to Leoben (50 minutes).

Accommodation:  Our colleagues at the University of Leoben have reserved a block of 30 rooms at Hotel Kongress at a special rate of 109€/night (+ a city tax of 2.5€/night). Breakfast is included.  Reservations need by be made before May 29.  Reservations can be made directly with the hotel using the code ”ALMI 2023“.  The Hotel’s email is:  office@hotelkongress.at and the website is: www.hotelkongress.at. 

Other accommodation options are Hotel Kindler (81.5-121.5€) https://kindler.at/ and IAM Hotel (60-133€) https://www.livingcampus.at/hotel.  We strongly recommend booking a room early.  Leoben is a small town and available rooms fill quickly during the summer.

Presentations:  We welcome presentations on all topics related to the effect of alloying elements on interface migration.  We are trying to organize a special discussion on methods of measuring solute at the interface (APT and EELS) and how to best interpret these results.  Contributions on this topic are especially welcome.
